Airtel Uganda: everything you need to know about the service in Uganda

Mobile Money is a technology that allows people to receive, keep and spend money using a mobile phone. If you have already sent a bank deposit or cash withdrawal, you may want to try a transfer to a mobile wallet.

Are you interested in this new way to send money through your phone? Here is an article telling you how to use Airtel Money service in Uganda and all the rates. But more importantly, you will discover how to send mobile money fast and free on an Airtel wallet with Monisnap!

    Airtel Service in Uganda

Airtel is an Indian telecommunications company that operates in 17 countries across Africa, including Uganda.

In Uganda, many of the phones on the Airtel network are prepaid mobiles. That means users have to buy airtime, also known as talk-time or mobile credit, before they can make calls, send texts and use their data.

Airtime for Airtel phones in Uganda is usually topped up using a pin number or a scratch card which can be bought in local shops, but that’s not always convenient. That’s where an Airtel Uganda internet top-up can help.

Airtel offers to receive money on an Airtel Money wallet directly (without having a bank account).

Airtel Money is a secure electronic service that enables Airtel Money wallet holders to store funds, send and receive money, make payments and do a number of other transactions simply using their mobile phone.

Money is added instantly to Airtel Money accounts. You only need to make sure that the recipient already has an Airtel Money account. You will need the recipient's Mobile Money number.

Transfers to a mobile wallet are usually instantaneous, day or night. The recipient of the transfer does not need to travel to receive it.

The handy trick is that with Airtel Money, you can send and receive money across networks.

You can also send Airtel Money outside Uganda to Airtel Money Subscribers in Rwanda, Airtel Zambia, Airtel Tanzania, Airtel Malawi, Burundi, Airtel Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Botswana and Kenya and receive money from Rwanda, Tanzania, Malawi, South Africa, Zambia, Kenya, UK, USA, UAE, Qatar, Oman and Saudi Arabia directly to your Airtel Money wallet AT NO COST.
