The Société française du radiotéléphone, SFR, is a French telecommunications operator, a branch of Altice France's telecom activities.

In early 2014, SFR and Bouygues Telecom signed an agreement to pool part of their mobile access networks. The agreement provides for the deployment of a shared network in an area representing 57% of the population (i.e., the entire territory outside the 32 largest urban areas with more than 200,000 inhabitants and white areas).

The rapid expansion of mobile Very Broadband coverage, which is historic in terms of volume, is the result of the veritable production plant designed by SFR and supported by unprecedented investments (€2.3 billion in 2016). This pace continued in 2017 and enabled SFR to cover 91% of the French population in 4G in July 2017. At the end of 2017, SFR covered 95% of the French population with a confirmed target of 99% by the end of 2018.

By the end of the second quarter of 2018, the operator covered 97% of the French population in 4G.
