Three UK (legally Hutchison 3G UK Limited) is a British telecommunications and internet service provider currently based in Reading, England. How can I activate my Three SIM?
Just received your new Three SIM and need help to activate it? If you bought a Three phone and SIM from Three, it should be ready to use as soon as you turn on your new phone. If you’re using a non-Three phone, follow these easy steps to activate your new Three SIM card:
- First, make sure it is 3G or 4G compatible and that it's unlocked.
- You need your phone’s battery to be fully charged.
- Insert your new Three SIM card into your phone and switch it on.
- You’ll receive a first text to let you know your sim activation started. Make sure you keep your phone switched on while you’re connected to the Three network. It usually takes about 2 hours but during busy periods it may take longer.
- When it’s nearly finished, you’ll receive another text asking you to turn your phone off and on again.
Your SIM will now be activated and a text will be send to you by Three as a confirmation.
How can I top up my Three SIM?

You can do it online with the Three app! You just need to register a card.
- Open the Three app and go to Allowance.
- Tap top-up, or you can choose an Add-on instead.
- Choose your top-up amount or an Add-on, then follow the instructions to pay.
You can also go to My3 to top-up. You might need to register if you don't have an account yet. To register a card, go to Manage cards in the Top-up section and click Add card.
- Go to Top-up now.
- To top-up, select Top-up with your card or a voucher.
- Scroll down to find the top-up amount you want.
- Confirm your address and enter your payment details – then you're all good to go!
If you just want to top-up without registering a card or logging in, go to the Three Top-up page and enter your details, then choose Credit/debit card or Voucher and follow the instructions.
